First look of the new Sigma 14-24 F2.8

In this article, let us see about an upcoming lens from Sigma – 14-24mm/f2.8.

This is an Art series lens with a brilliant zoom range of 14 to 24mm with a constant aperture – f2.8. This lens can be used on an APS-C sensor.

Sigma claims almost zero distortion and very minimal chromatic aberration from this lens. In Sigma’s official  website, the MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) chart shows a significant vignetting at f2.8 at both 14mm as well as 24mm.

This lens weighs about 1150 gms. Therefore It is is not light-weight gear. Minimum focusing distance for this lens is 28cm and the minimum aperture is f.22.

This lens is priced at ₹ 1,19,000 and is expected to hit the market by the mid of March.
